This page explains exactly where every listing's data comes from, what "licensed" and "verified" mean on this site, and where the limits are. If you're trying to decide how much to trust a listing, this is the page to read.

The source

For home care, every listing starts from the Nevada Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance (HCQC)'s own public licensing export — the same regulator that licenses these agencies to operate in Nevada. That export is the single source of truth for every business's license number, license status, license category, and endorsed services. None of those fields are typed in by a business or inferred from a website; they're read directly from the state's record.

How a listing gets built

1. Ingest. The licensing board's export is pulled and matched against Nevada's cities and counties. Rows that don't clear basic data-quality checks are set aside for review, not guessed into a listing.
2. Enrichment. If a business has its own website, it's looked up and its homepage and about page are read for real detail — services offered, specialties, hours, anything the agency says about itself. A business with no findable, independently verifiable website stays on the licence facts alone.
3. Write-up. The descriptive text on each listing is drafted from those two sources only: the state's licence facts and whatever real text was found on the agency's own site. Nothing is invented. When a business's own site doesn't say much, the listing says less — that's treated as correct, not as a gap to paper over.
4. Publish and refresh. Listings are re-verified against a fresh export on a quarterly cadence, and every listing shows the date it was last checked.

What "verified" means, precisely

It means the license number, status, category, and endorsed services shown on a listing match Nevada's own licensing export as of the "last checked" date on that page. It does not mean a person has visited the business, inspected its facilities, or personally confirmed the quality of its work — NevadaList isn't in a position to do that, and doesn't claim to.

What this site does not do

• No reviews or ratings. NevadaList never shows star ratings or testimonials. They're easy to fake and impossible for a directory like this one to verify, so rather than display something unreliable, it isn't shown at all.
• No medical advice. Nothing on this site is medical or care advice. Licence status describes what a business is authorized to do, not whether it's the right choice for your situation.
• No guaranteed real-time status. Licence status can change between refreshes. For a decision that matters, confirm current status directly with Nevada Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance (HCQC).
